For over 70 years, Adventures in Knitting has served Cape Cod’s active community of knitters (natives and visitors alike!) with a wide selection of yarns, patterns, and accessories and connected knitters through unique classes, workshops, and retreats.

This year we are excited to highlight our new line of exclusive hand-dyed Cape Cod Yarn Company yarns. With colors inspired by the Cape Cod landscape, our luxurious yarns are dyed in-house and are only available at Adventures in Knitting. Check out our selection of fan favorites and limited run designs to make your next project truly special.

What’s New

Melt the Ice Hat by Needle & Skein

In the 1940’s, Norwegians made and wore red pointed hats with a tassel as a form of visual protest against Nazi occupation of their country. Within two years, the Nazis made these protest hats illegal and punishable by law to wear, make, or distribute. As purveyors of traditional craft, we felt it appropriate to revisit this design.

All proceeds from the Ravelry sale of this pattern go to the immigrant aid agencies who will distribute the funds to those impacted by the actions of ICE.

I’m sure many of you are aware of this pattern and cause and you’re probably also aware there is very little red yarn available at the moment!

We will be getting red yarn in by next week. Hopefully some by this Friday.

Reasons to Buy Yarn Locally

  • Touch and Feel: Nothing beats seeing and feeling the yarn in person before buying. You can assess the texture, softness, and true color, which is especially helpful for complex projects.

  • Instant Gratification: Walk out with your purchase immediately—no waiting for shipping.

  • Community Connection: Local shops rely on the sale of yarn to remain open and to offer knitting/crochet classes, stitch groups, and events, making them a great resource for support, inspiration and socializing.

  • Supporting Small Business: Shopping local supports independent retailers in your community, which helps keep your town vibrant and unique.

  • Like Adventures in Knitting, most shops are happy to help you with yarn and patterns purchased from them.

If your Valentine loves all things yarn, a gift card makes a great present!
